Solar System for Home: Steps to Use Solar Power for Your Resident
If you want to have solar system for home, you will need to know what steps to be taken so that you can fully see the result from using it. In this case, you will get cleaner energy source and more saving towards your household bills.
Here are the steps including:
1 Check out your house energy. You have to check out to find out how and where the power is being used. You will at least want to know how much energy to be used monthly so that you can design a proper solar system for home. If you check out your domestic energy well enough, you will also see if there is any leakage for your home. If so, you can fix it easily.
2) Source for cheap components. You will have to find out where and how to buy lower cost components for the use in your system. You may need more research in order to be able to source for cheap parts and components.
The good news is that some of the good guide books have done this for you. So, you don’t have to struggle and do that research yourself.
3) Build the solar module - When you have gotten the solar cells from wherever you bought, you may need to check each and every cell so that you know if there is anything broken before you start really put them up.
4) Installing the solar module – At this stage, you have to decide how and where you want to install the solar panels. The modules have to be setup either on the roof or on the ground. Personally, I think you should do the roof since it can get more sunlight.
5) Build the Battery Power Source for your solar system for home– Normally you cannot connect and get the electricity from your solar panels to make use of it. This is because the power generated from the modules is small and inconsistent. You need to build a battery bank.
The solar cells are connected to a controller where it will be used to charge up the battery. When the battery is charged, it can be used to power simple electrical equipment with Direct Current (DC). If you want to power your stereo, TV or computer, you will have to use a power inverter to change the DC to AC or Alternate Current.
You can build your own solar system for home by spending only $200. Check out the guide at Solar Power for Home
