Learn the Simple Carport Plans
I am living out in the country. And I only have a fairly small house which means a lot of the things my wife and I have collected over the years ends up in my garage where the car is supposed to be. One thing about country living is that there is a lot of birds flying about and when nature calls it usually ends up on my car. So, I decided awhile back to draw up some simple carport plans to protect my baby from unmentionable things falling from the sky. You can visit here – Plans for Sheds
I should correct myself here and say that although I did try and draw the plans myself I actually ended up buying a set because even thought the structure seemed simple in concept but in actual, it was really quite complex when it came to the design, since I wanted it to meet current building codes.
I also wanted to make sure I bought the right materials in the right quantities which mean to have an accurate material list. I have started too many projects only to quit half way through because I did not budget properly and did not buy enough wood.
Carports have to stand up to heavy wind loads as well because many do not have walls to screen the wind. The roof acts just like an airplane wing so it has to be designed in a way that keeps it firmly anchored to the ground or it may set sail if you are prone to storms or heavy winds.
Also, if you live in an area where there is a lot of snow fall the structure could collapse under thousands of pounds of weight if it is not built with this in mind and in plan. All in all it is a good idea to buy a set of plans like a simple carport plan even though your carport may seem on the surface like a simple project because it is anything but.
